about 'the red book' and the philco television playhouse murders

this page serves as a compilation of what i know about the red book/the yellow phantom/that one tape from philco television playhouse's test recording.

if you're here, you probably have heard of the red book/philco television playhouse murders! people say the tape is fake... you probably also know that it's real. a brief summary of what i know:

1. about 1951, "the red book" got it's first english publishing. it was then adapted into a play for the philco television playhouse, titled "the yellow phantom". you can probably find more about what the play itself was supposed to be somewhere. i was actually able to find a page of the script with a sketch on it that you can check out here
2. the most interesting part here is that the play was about to film its final run in 1952, but right before, news came out that the production's director (gary topchick) had murdered 3 girls.
3. the girls were all related to people who worked at the nbc network on the same program (which one i cannot currently find). topchick was then put on trial and locked away a mental institution, bellview hopsital.
4. anyways, we have reason to believe (thanks to research done by others doing some non-regulated detective work) that topchick was framed. he didn't have a criminal history, had practically no motive, and was somehow found mentally unsound at the trial?
5. the doctor treating topchick (dr. maximo friend) dissapeared after 1959 after renting a cloak and mask at a costume shop somewhere.

i was able to get my hands on a tape of it one time when i was younger and it really wasn't anything interesting and honestly was a bit too muddy to make out anything clear, just someone taping the film of the dress rehersal... but proof that it was filmed nonetheless!
